(or Blum-Holowach 2019, we’re not picky)

Here you’ll find all the info to make your day with us easy and uncomplicated.

PLEASE READ EVERYTHING, there are a bunch of weird details that you’ll need to know in order to not be surprised by travel, lodging, or other considerations.

ATTIRE

Dress for the wedding should GARDEN ATTIRE / BOHEMIAN .

You can find examples of what that means at this link. In general:  

MEN

• Suit, tie, and dress shoes are a safe bet
• Black is always good, but lighter shades are great too (taupe, tan, grey, olive, and crème, for example)
• If you want, you can exclude suit jackets, with suspenders or vests, and perhaps a bow tie
• Extra Points for Suspenders , Beards, Bow Ties, or Hats (Dapper Look)

WOMEN

• Long or short semi-formal to formal attire in soft colors and fabrics, such as…
• Summer dresses in yellow, red, or turquoise
• Light floral patterns and or colored lace are also good choices
• Neutrals such taupe, grey, navy, dusty blue, or olive
• Dusty rose, blush, peach, lilac, plum, light blue (the more color the better!)
• Sun Hats, Flower Crowns, Embroidered Shawls, Silk Scarves, Velvet Wraps, Sun dresses, Statement Pieces,  and Faux Fur Coats Encouraged!
• Please remember that the wedding will take place in a forest setting so wedges / platforms / sandals  are strongly encouraged over heels or stilettos as the spikey heel will be difficult to walk in the dirt with!
• Free/Natural, Curly or Wavy hair encouraged!
• Please dress for happiness & comfort!

THE WEATHER

Sequoia National Park will likely be in the low-to-mid 70s during the ceremony, and often has a gentle breeze. Some sensitive individuals might be chilly.

The reception in Squaw Valley will be quite warm for a few hours in the late afternoon until the evening, likely in the range of 80 – 90 degrees F, but nighttime temperatures will be comfortable, dropping to the mid-70s by 9 PM.

THE CEREMONY

The ceremony will take place from 1 – 3 PM at Long Meadow, right near the Wolverton Ski Lodge in Sequoia National Park.

Access to the park is $35 PER VEHICLE (not per person). The Pass can be used for 1 week entering and exiting the park.  Carpooling Highly Suggested

There is plenty of parking there, but try to carpool if you can, as it allows space for other park guests, and saves money on park entrance fees.

Once you arrive, there will be a few people with Blum-Holowach shirts that will help you get to the ceremony sites. We’ll have a picture of those shirts on this site prior to the wedding, so check back here for that.

There will be LIMITED SEATS for the ceremony, so you will be standing for awhile. If you need a seat for medical or personal reasons, please contact us and we’ll bring a chair for you. You don’t need to tell us why you need a chair, just let us know if you / your guest need one and we’ll accommodate.

However, if you’re able to stand, please don’t ask for a chair, as the park doesn’t allow for a lot of seating at our ceremony site. Thank you for understanding!

The reception will be at the Serenity Rustic Retreat on Mill Creek from 6:00 PM until whenever we want.

Please use THIS EXACT ADDRESS, and when booking for hotels or Airbnbs nearby, make sure that you use that zip code to search. You are better served looking for places in DUNLAP, aas that's the nearest town. Oftentimes, Google Maps and other sites default to Olympic Valley if you put in Squaw Valley, CA, but they are SIX HOURS APART. Squaw Valley is located near the northern entrance to Sequoia National Park, so keep that in mind.

TRAVEL TIME

If you are staying close to the reception in or around Squaw Valley, it will take approximately 90 minutes to drive to the ceremony site, which means a total 3 hours of car time between the ceremony site and the reception site. Though the northern entrance to Sequoia National Park is usually not busy, be aware that sometimes there can be traffic back-up. Give yourself an extra 20-30 minutes of time to reach Wolverton Ski Lodge for the ceremony.
